  • AAH-I: The Problem Situation: The Challenge Acute Emergencies vs. Chronic Disasters In a classical ?emergency?, there is a short and devastating event followed by a breakdown of capacity within the affected community to cope. • Abby Clobridge - World War II Poster Project: faculty within Bucknell' s Department of History sought to solidify students' basic historical research skills in introductory courses so students can progress to more advanced historical research. As one step towards this goal, faculty created History 100: Thinking about History. One large component of the course was the World War II Poster Project, a unit designed to embed several information literacy and technology fluency skills into the course. The faculty member teaching the course worked closely with several members of the library/IT staff to create and lead this unit.
  • Information Competence for Art (SJSU) - SJLibrary.org: The Project seeks to examine the present effectiveness of SJSU's Art History Program in providing students with visual, verbal, and information competency skills; and to remodel both individual courses, and the B.A. and M.A. curricula in Art History, so that they better prepare present and future groups of students. Specifically, we aim to ensure that BA and MA Art History graduates are information competent. SJSU's Art History Program offers B.A. and M.A. majors. In addition to upper division and graduate courses taken by these majors and by other Art & Design students. A variety of General Education courses are provided to our own majors and to general campus students. The Art History Information Competence Project will focus on developing and assessing the information skills of our majors in a discipline-spe cific context. Faculty will simultaneously be laying the groundwork for embedding information skills development in all of our courses.
