Natural Hazards Gateway: The USGS Natural Hazards Gateway offers a one-stop shop to learn about natural hazards (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, landslides, tsunamis, volcanoes, and wildfires). The site also links to real-time data that can be useful to citizens and emergency support personnel who must make important decisions before, during, and after a natural disaster.
2002 Earthquake Probability Mapping: You can generate a customized earthquake rate and probability model from 2002 for any zip code in the US. The site allows you to control both the magnitude threshold (down to 5.0) and the exposure time. Because this is dealing with probabilities I would recommend reviewing the links regarding "what the various parameters mean" before discussing the numbers with students.
