  • di colpo (Gen, R for themes, 1,020 words): Coda to 4.20 The Rapture. Dark and hopeful at the same time. "Sam leans his head against the door and calls out to Dean, over and over, and hopes to hell Dean's out there listening to him. Because they're brothers, no matter what, more than brothers, and that's got to mean something, even when one of them is turning into something ungodly, something wrong. And Sam knows he is, has known all along that this wasn't the yellow brick road he was following and there'd be no heart or courage or wisdom at the end for him."

  • Words For Snow (Sam/Dean, PG, 4160 words): Mute!Sam. OuchouchOUCH. Beautifully written, though. "?I know this game?s all about you gettin? off on my sexy baritone, but I think it?s about damn time you took a turn.? Sam closes his mouth, rolls his eyes, but then he pulls Dean?s clean hand towards him across the bar top. Just stares down at it, for a little while, frowning like he always does. Then he writes. I NEVER REGRETTED IT. Right there in the centre of Dean?s palm, ink cobwebbing into all the tiny creases, the intersection of his lifeline. He stares down at it. Sam turns away from him and to the bar."

  • Angelus Interruptus (Sam/Dean, R, 1,451 words): Castiel has questions about pop culture. Sadly, that's not the only area of humanity his knowledge is lacking in. ""If you're not here for smiting, why the hell are you here?" [...] "There was something I needed explained.&quo t; Castiel frowned, head down as if he were searching for the right words. Dean braced himself. Nothing like explaining Humanity to an angel while buck naked, having been interrupted while having sex with your brother."

  • Meta on incest and the transposition reality/fantas y as recurring themes in S4: "[SPN] features non-standard families without necessarily being judgmental, and of course how it often focuses on sibling (or sibling-like) relationships. [...] Not so much in S4. The most surprising example of these unhealthy family relationships that keeps cropping up in S4 is incest. Not surprising that it crops up at all, the writers' knowledge of fandom and Wincest aside it's a perfectly legitimate thing to build one of their cases around, but the frequency with which it crops up has been surprising.&qu ot;
  • It's Only Easy if You Know the Answer (Gen, PG-13, 900 words): Alternate ending for 417. Very creepy. "You always knew how to hotwire a car, you realise. You?d just forgotten it. First instinct takes you to Dean?s Prius, all the way up ?til your hand is on the door and then there is the sensation of something crawling down your spine. The car in your dreams is black and sleek and uncomfortably familiar, and you spend five minutes jogging around the block looking for it, but it?s nowhere to be seen."

  • The Colts and the Haunting of the Port Hadley Lighthouse (Sam/Dean, NC-17, 5051 words): Smith and Wesson do a few things before waking up. "Sam crouched down and switched the computer off and then on. After a long, horrifying moment the screen went blue again and was asking for Dean?s password. Dean went slack into his desk chair, heavy with relief. ?It?s KAZ space 2Y5,? he said. [...] ?You keep...calling me that. What is that about?? Dean felt his own face go hot, so he got up and started collecting their empties. ?Whatever,? he mumbled. He didn?t know why he kept calling him that."
  • Doing The Best Things So Conservatively (Smith/Wesson, NC-17, 1,653 words): I'm not sure if it's supposed to be pure-AU or not. Either way, fun and hot. "I'm totally paying attention to you and your rabbit food." "Rabbits don't drink yerba maté." "Because they know it's gross."
  • Final Scene, Take Two (Gen, PG, ~750 words): 417 coda. "Sam thinks under the circumstances he's not going to bother going to HR to tell them he's quitting. The tableau with the phone and the poker says enough."

April 6th

  • Working Man (Gen, PG-13, 1,570 words): ""Wh at was the whole damn point of this?? Dean shrugs and pushes the down button for the elevator. ?I dunno. Morale boosting. Like there are shittier ways to spend your life, I guess.? It?s an answer, not the full one, but it?ll do, he hopes. He still hasn?t told Sam about what Alastair and Castiel had told him. Won?t ever, if he had his way"

March 31st

  • Forget the Riches and the Other Itches (Sam/Dean, NC-17, 1615 words): Missing scenes from 4.17, Sam and Dean righting what's wrong in this AU. "Whatever Dean said about saving it for the health club, it doesn?t stop him from eye-fucking Sam every time they?re in the elevator. It doesn?t keep Sam from thinking about Dean during his lunch break, when he shuts the door to the bathroom stall [...] He notices the way Dean eats his lunch like he hates it, wheat grass and salads, the way he laughs sometimes when he?s on the phone, how hot he looks in his power suits but how they look all wrong on him."

March 30th

  • two sides of an ampersand (Dean/Sam, R, 1,683 words): Coda 4.17, about things that are inevitable. A warmer ending to the episode, featuring Sam. ""So . You hit on me in the elevator," ; he counters. He doesn't even think until the words are out there. He expects Sam to contradict him. Insist it was nothing of the sort, a joke or a misunderstandi ng or an office dare, anything, but he doesn't. "

March 25th

  • Walls Come Tumbling (Sam/Dean, 3,200 words): Post-416. "That 9;s who Sam has become. He's the man Dean needed, before, when he was dying by degrees on his way to hell and Sam wasn't prepared to do what had to be done. He's the Sam his brother can never really love, or accept. The one Dean will never thank. The one he might even hate, when all is said and done. But Sam's okay with it; there are truths about himself he can live with, and this is one of them. Dean will never know. Dean will live, and Dean will be himself again, and this is how it's going to be."

March 4th

  • I could write a book (Dean/Sam; R, 1,460 words): Five things Dean knows about Sam. Ouch. "Dean knows a lot of things he shouldn't about Sam, like the way he looks and sounds when he comes, the soft hitch in his breathing, the way his thighs tense and his hips jerk when he's getting close. Dean knows the taste and smell of his skin, breathes the same air and bleeds the same blood. Sometimes, he worries he's damned Sam's soul to hell as surely as his own; sometimes, he wonders if there was ever a difference.&qu ot;

February 26th

  • Pluck My Feathers (Sam/Dean, NC-17, 4255 words): Post-Sex and Violence, they work out their issues fighting with words - and with sex. Both very hot and heartbreaking. "Man, Sam had thought it was bad enough inside the car. Stuck in the front seat, Dean's tapes blaring, both of them determined to be bright and cheerful because they were good. Like if they repressed hard enough everything would really be just fine. Now in the motel though, this was just plain awkward. Dean obviously wanted to skip out and find a bar, but that was hard to do while pretending they were getting along oh-so-fine. Pretending Sam hadn't faced him yesterday and basically told him that forty years being tortured in Hell wasn't worth bitching about."

December 23rd

  • Sea Change (Sam/Dean, NC-17, 5,320 words): Coda to 407, Dean coming to terms with what he saw in the Samhain-Sam showdown. "His head came up, eyes locking with Dean's like they'd done a thousand times before in the heat of a fight, connecting with the same inevitable gravity Dean had always felt, needle to magnet, circuit closing faster than thought."
