  • Computer scientist to 'unroll' papyrus scrolls buried by Vesuvius: When Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, some 1800 scrolls were carbonised and many of these are still held in museums today. Now, perhaps, using a form of X-ray tomography, an attempt is to be made to read a couple of them.
