Cirrus Logic produced the original chipset. Cirrus then spun all its modem chipsets off as an independant company called Ambient Technologies. Ambient discontinued the chipset (replaced by the MD563X-HaM). Ambient became part of Intel, and Intel now no longer uses the Ambient name. Intel continue to support all the former Cirrus Logic/Ambient modem chipsets.
